The First Tee of Orange County is more than a sports program for kids and teens – we shape the lives of young people. We provide character-building and life-skills lessons through the game of golf which parallels life as players experience the highs and lows of the game. Our programs reinforce values like integrity, respect, responsibility and perseverance and promote healthy habits.
In September 2013, we began providing educational programs to youth, ages 4 to 18, at The Islands Golf Center in Anaheim. To date, more than 580 youth, representing seventeen (17) cities and communities in Orange County have enrolled in our signature program – The First Tee Life Skills Experience. Programs are also offered at Dad Miller Golf Course and Anaheim Hills Golf Course in Anaheim and Shorecliffs Golf Club and San Clemente Municipal Golf Course in San Clemente. In addition, more than 3,000 children have been served in our afterschool, outreach program, DRIVE, in 12 elementary schools in Orange, Tustin and Santa Ana.
